Summary
Kathy Greene has worked in long-term care for the elderly for 20 years in a variety of environments, including skilled nursing, assisted living and county service agencies. She received her Masters Degree in Social Work from San Diego State University with a concentration in Aging and Administration. Kathy has dedicated her career to making a difference in the lives of seniors and their families.
Major Career Accomplishments
- Implemented a Mentoring program at Silverado Senior Living – Escondido reducing turnover by twenty-six percent. Winner of the Best Practices Award, Silverado Senior Living, 2002. This was replicated company wide and won the CALA Innovations in Quality award.
- Awarded the Administrator of the Year Award for Silverado Senior Living 2000.
- As administrator, lead Silverado Senior Living-Escondido to be named Community of the year 2002
- Collaborated with other team members to operationalize the Silverado Senior Living philosophy in the newly acquired Texas communities thereby “giving life to those that others have given up on” and within one year generated a positive cash flow.
- Field Instructor for the School of Social Work at San Diego State University
- Guest Lecturer for the School of Social Work at San Diego State University, Administrative tract.
- Program Director of collaboration, “Vision Achievement Mentoring,” managing a $500,000 grant for disadvantaged youths. Developed all components of the program including the evaluation. This program has since been sustained by two one million dollar grants from the NFL.
